Spellbound: A Downtown Carlisle Halloween Event

Spellbound: A Downtown Carlisle Halloween Event will be an entire weekend of activities and events for kids & families and for adults alike.
More events will be announced soon!

We have two fun activities for the entire family happening during our Spellbound Weekend!

THE CASE OF THE CARLISLE CAT-ASTROPHE: Don’t miss our Digital Scavenger Hunt Mystery that will take you around Downtown Carlisle. All participants that complete the scavenger hunt will receive a prize and if your team solves the mystery correctly, you’ll be entered to win the grand prize. The first clue will be posted on our website and social media pages beginning on October 22. The scavenger hunt will run from October 22-November 2.

DOWNTOWN PUMPKIN PATCH: Come downtown October 22-26 and check out our Downtown Pumpkin Patch! Roam around downtown and find carefully crafted pumpkins from our downtown merchants. You’ll also be able to vote for your favorites.

THE WITCHING HOUR (Friday, October 24): Bring your family and fall under the spell of that is Carlisle with magic and activities at every turn throughout downtown. You’ll find something for everyone.

SPELLBOUND WAGON RIDES WITH BENCHFIELD FARMS (6-8pm): Take a 15 minute horse drawn wagon ride while listening to some wicked Tales of Carlisle. $10/person, groups of 8 or more paying customers eligible for a discount. Children 3 and under are free. Rides begin at Church Ave and S Hanover St. To make reservations, call/text Traci at 717-448-8464.

**SOLD OUT** EAST SIDE GHOST TOUR WITH JENNIFER FROM TIMEKEEPER TOURS (7pm) Join us as we walk Carlisle's east side. Among stories on this tour, you'll hear about a hanging, a senseless duel and a fire that devastated the entire town. This Tour meets at the town mural at 41 West High St Carlisle, Pa 17013. Tours are $15/person.

BACK PORCH BREWING: 133 N Hanover St
Monster Mash / Costume Contest @ 7pm - Dress in your best costume and come to Back Porch Brewing for an evening of fun and Live Music. Not Quite Rite will be playing your favorite tunes and monster music. Best dressed wins a $25 gift card from Back Porch and $25 in LoveBuck from Love Carlisle. Must be 18 years older or older to participate.
CARLISLE CREATIVE VIBES: 152 N Hanover St
Oddities Exhibit by Spellbound at CCV: Talking Boards, Human Skull, Haunted Dolls and more located inside the Carlisle Creative Vibes - Vibe Lounge.
CREATE-A-PALOOZA: 11 E High St
(6-8pm) I smell pottery?! Join us in lighting the Black Flame Candle as we summon the Sanderson Sisters! This painting event will surely put a spell on you! Enjoy delicious munchies and let the witch hunt begin.What to expect:
a wide variety of Hocus Pocus inspired pottery to select from

BOSLER LIBRARY COMIC CON (10am-4pm): Bosler Comic Con is back for another exciting year! This event is FREE to attend. SPOOKY SATURDAY (12-3pm): Saturday, October 25th from 12-3pm will be the return of Spooky Saturday! This is a downtown wide treat or treat for kids 12 and under. Kids will be able to walk around downtown in costume and collect candy from participating businesses. A map of participating businesses will be released on Friday, October 24.

DOWNTOWN CARLISLE MASQUERADE BALL (6-8pm) brought to you by: The Francavilla-Hodges Community Fund: Enjoy an evening of elegance and mystery in your fanciest mask at the Downtown Carlisle Masquerade Ball happening on Saturday, October 25th from 6-8pm. The Masquerade will be held outside in the Pocket Park and parking lot of the Cumberland County Historical Society.

To gain entry into the Masquerade, you will need to provide a ticket, a mask and answer a question to enter. You will receive the answer to the question, when you purchase your ticket.

Tickets are $5 (not including the $2.18 fee) and the first 50 people who purchase tickets will receive a mask with their ticket.
Make sure to sign up for Happy Go Creative’s Mask Decorating Class happening on Thursday, October 23 to make sure you have the best mask at the ball.

**SOLD OUT** WEST SIDE GHOST TOUR WITH JENNIFER FROM TIMEKEEPER TOURS @ 7pm: Begin on West High Street and hear tales of poisoning, lost loves and the accidental homicides that have marred these charming streets. The eerie college campus is a fitting final stop for our West Side Ghost Tour. This tour meets at the gates to near the town mural by 41 West High Street Carlisle, Pa 17013.

1 MINUTE MYSTERIES FILM FESTIVAL: Submit your 1 Minute Mystery/Horror Film and have it shown to the public at our first ever 1 Minute Mysteries Film Fest that will take place on Sunday, October 26th at 11am at Miss Ruth’s Time Bomb hosted by the Professor of Horror, Dr. John Paul Checkett, host of Terror and Talk at the Time Bomb, columist to SCREAM magazine, contributor to Video Watchdog and the author of Psycho’s 4 movie DVD Box Set Collection Book.
We will have a public showing at Miss Ruth’s Time Bomb and dependent on # of submissions) of all movies on Sunday, October 26th. We highly encourage participants to bring their friends and family to the showing!
We will have a release form participants will need to fill out to have their movie shared during the event. We are also planning to make the movies publicly available online via a link for some time (TBD) post-event.
Movies will be pre-screened by the DCA to avoid any issues in playback that occurred during the upload process, and we reserve the right to decline submissions that aren't in alignment with the spirit of the event.

- Max file size: 1 GB
- Length limit: No shorter than 1 minute and not to exceed 3 minutes
- Deadline for submission: October 15, 2025
