5th Annual UMPC Ice Art Fest in Downtown Carlisle
Friday, February 5th 5 to 9 pm Saturday, February 6th 9 am to 9 pm Sunday, February 7th 9 am to 3 pm
The 5th Annual UPMC Ice Art Festival in Downtown Carlisle will be held on February 5, 6, 7. Hosted by the LoveCarlisle / Downtown Carlisle Association, over 50 sculptures will populate historic downtown for your socially distanced browsing and picture taking fun. Along with the sculptures you can enjoy a few new contactless activities, refreshments, and experiences hosted by our sponsors. The festival will begin with an unveiling at the UPMC Pinnacle Throne on Friday, February 5 at 5 pm at the Old Courthouse on the Square. At this time volunteers across downtown will unveil all the sculptures including the Ice Bar at the Comfort Suites.
“Life is different now, so when we plan our events, we have to ensure we are still following all health and safety guidelines when it comes to activities. Food trucks have been eliminated to encourage people to patronize our restaurants, and we are not hosting any indoor entertainment activities. But there will still be favorites like the diamond dig and the ice bar.” stated Glenn White, Executive Director of LoveCarlisle.
The sculptures are slated to be in front of sponsoring businesses throughout downtown. With COVID-19 precautions in place, sculptures will be at least 20 feet away from each other, guests are required to wear a mask, maintain proper social distancing, and RSVP online with your visiting time so staff can manage any crowds. You can sign-up to a 5-hour time frame at www.LoveCarlisle.com.
With COVID-19 precautions in place we are inviting everyone to participate in the contactless activities and visit, dine and shop in our stores and restaurants. You can scan the QR codes at any of our sculptures and posters around town and download the ice sculpture map.
